Broker Mortgage Advisory Company has announced the launch of a new online conveyancing service targeted at advisers.
The referral service uses qualified solicitors and pays up to £75 per case. Benefits include SMS messages and email updates to clients. No face-to-face meetings are necessary and there is no fee if the case does not complete.
Stuart Wilson, managing director of Mortgage Advisory Company, said: "It is aimed at providing a quick, hassle-free service for advisers to get a fixed price quote from a quality firm of solicitors for their clients."
Commenting, James Carter, independent financial adviser at Virtue Financial, said: "In the past I have used things like this but I found the solicitors have always been unreliable, and I prefer to have a personal relationship with a solicitor who I know is going to give my client a good service. I do not take any introducer payment to reduce the client fee, and I would rather have the reliability of a good solicitor."
But Paul White, consultant at Belgravia Insurance Consultants, welcomed the new service and said while he had heard of similar services in other fields, this was the first such conveyancing service he was aware of. He said: "£75 is more or less the going rate. I like the idea of SMS texting but at what point will the client get these SMS messages?"
White said its success would depend on whether it was weekly or daily, and the appeal of the text service would also depend on the age group of the client.
